About the Role
A leading logistics company in Colombo is looking for a motivated and results-driven Sales Executive to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing client relationships, and promoting freight forwarding and logistics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
- Generate leads through cold calling, customer visits, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
- Promote sea freight, air freight, import/export, customs clearance, and related logistics services.
- Coordinate with operations and documentation teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales and revenue targets.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service-related matters professionally.
- Attend customer meetings, sales presentations, exhibitions, and networking events when required.
- Prepare regular sales reports and provide updates to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1–2 years of sales experience, preferably within freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or a related industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven ability to generate leads and close sales while achieving targets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Familiarity with logistics management systems is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
- Fluency in Sinhala and/or Tamil will be an advantage.
