Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Trainee to join a growing professional services environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are pursuing a career in taxation and wish to gain hands-on experience supporting clients, meeting compliance requirements, and working closely with senior tax professionals in a structured and fast-paced setting.
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 AM – 5.30 PM
Location: Colombo
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax computations in accordance with applicable regulations
- Provide guidance to clients on tax implications and compliance matters
- Coordinate with the Inland Revenue Department on tax-related issues
- Support the team in meeting statutory tax deadlines accurately and on time
- Assist the Tax Manager with ad-hoc duties and assignments as required
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to tax filings
Requirements:
- Fully qualified in AAT or partly qualified in CA / CMA / ACCA / CIMA
- Currently reading or completed a taxation course or degree will be an added advantage
- Fair knowledge of taxation principles
- Good communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Sound knowledge of MS Office packages
- Ability to work well within a team and meet deadlines
