Financial Planning AssociateYTM Financial Planning is a specialist life insurance and Superannuation advice practice, helping clients protect their income, families and assets through tailored personal risk insurance strategies. We work across all major insurer platforms, including AIA, TAL, MLC Life, Zurich and Clear View and all other insurers.
 
Position       : Financial Planning Associate
Location      : Orion City, Dematagoda

Work Time  : 6.00 A.M to 2.00 P.M (Monday to Friday)
                    : 6.00 A.M to 10.00 AM (Saturday)

Key Responsibilities
Adviser Support & Paraplanning

  • Prepare pre-meeting materials, fact finds and file notes.
  • Assist advisers with research, underwriting comparisons and strategy modelling across AIA, TAL, MLC Life, Zurich and Clear View
  • Draft Statements of Advice (SOAs), Records of Advice (ROAs) and Fee Disclosure Statements for adviser review
  • Support advisers in preparing client presentations and advice documentation
  • Follow up outstanding requirements and action items after client meetings

Client Service

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage new business submissions, underwriting requirements and policy alterations with insurers
  • Track application progress and proactively update clients and advisers on underwriting outcomes
  • Coordinate medical, financial and lifestyle underwriting requirements with clients and insurers
  • Process policy commencement, alterations, claims lodgement support and general servicing requests

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in XPLAN
  • Ensure all client files meet AFSL compliance and record-keeping requirements
  • Manage diary and workflow systems to ensure tasks and deadlines are met
  • Assist with the preparation of compliance documentation and adviser audits
  • Support general practice administration, including file management and correspondence

Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience in a financial planning, life insurance or broader financial services support role (Adviser Associate, Client Service Officer or Financial Planning Assistant experience highly regarded)
  • Understanding of the Australian financial service’s regulatory environment (ASIC, AFSL obligations, SOA/ROA requirements)
  • Experience with XPLAN, adviser logic, life risk online and or similar financial planning software is advantageous
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills0
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, client-focused attitude and willingness to learn

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Financial Planning, Commerce, Business or a related field (or working towards)
  • RG146 / Tier 2 compliance (or willingness to obtain) is desirable
  • Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications
