Sales & Business Development Manager – Travel Industry

Join a fast-growing travel company that helps customers explore the world through expertly designed journeys.
We are looking for a Sales & Business Development Manager to take full ownership of the revenue function from converting enquiries into bookings to building strong supplier partnerships and driving business growth.

 Location - Wennappuwa, Sri Lanka (Office-based with flexibility)
Working Hours - 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexibility required for overtime when needed)
Employment Type - Full-time
Reports to - Co-Founder      
 
What’s on offer

  • Basic Salary: LKR 200,000
  • Commission: 10% profit per direct travel package sold

Key Responsibilities
Sales

  • Handle inbound enquiries and convert leads into confirmed bookings
  • Design customized travel itineraries and pricing proposals
  • Follow up on leads and manage CRM effectively
  • Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets
  • Build long-term customer relationships and repeat business

Business Development

  • Develop and maintain partnerships with airlines, hotels, DMCs, and travel suppliers
  • Negotiate competitive rates and commercial terms
  • Identify new travel products and destination opportunities
  • Build B2B partnerships with travel agents and corporate clients
  • Represent the company at industry events and trade shows

Commercial Ownership

  • Manage the full sales pipeline from enquiry to post-travel follow-up
  • Track and report performance metrics (conversion, revenue, booking value)
  • Provide market insights for pricing and product strategies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth customer experience

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in travel sales (outbound/international preferred)
  • Proven ability to achieve sales targets and close high-value deals
  • Strong supplier network (DMCs, hotels, airlines, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive mindset
  • Experience using CRM systems and reservation platforms (Amadeus, Sabre, etc.)
  • Languages - Fluent English required (additional languages are a plus)

  • Gender: Male or Female
  • Age Limit: Below 40 years

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Sri Lankan or South Asian travel markets
  • Existing B2B/trade partnerships
  • Knowledge of destinations such as Europe, Middle East, Far East, and Australia
  • Additional language skills (Arabic, Mandarin, etc.)

 
Performance Metrics

  • Revenue targets (monthly & quarterly)
  • Conversion rate (enquiry to booking)
  • Average booking value
  • Supplier rate improvements
  • Customer retention and repeat bookings
